Aluminum flat decks weigh 30–40% less than comparable steel decks, which means more payload capacity, better fuel economy, and a longer service life without rust. Our Hillsboro aluminum flat decks are built with fully welded, aircraft-grade aluminum and heavy-duty steel crossmembers for maximum strength where it counts. Steel decks cost less upfront and can handle heavier abuse in high-impact oilfield or construction environments, but they require more maintenance over time. If you're running a Ram 3500, Ram 4500, Ram 5500, Ford F-450, or F-550 as a commercial work truck, aluminum is almost always the better long-term investment. Not sure which is right for your job? Give us a call or send us an email — we're happy to walk you through the options.
Diamond West Sales carries the full Hillsboro lineup, including the G1, G2, Hybrid 500, Hybrid 1000, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, and TX Series. Each model is built to different payload ratings, deck profiles, and application needs — from lighter-duty farm and ranch use to heavy commercial and oilfield work. Whether you're hauling equipment, bales, or running a fleet of work trucks across Canada, Hillsboro makes a deck that fits. Contact us and we'll match you to the right series for your chassis and job requirements.
The most popular combinations we build and sell are Ram 4500, Ram 5500, Ford F-450, and Ford F-550 chassis cabs paired with Hillsboro aluminum flat decks. These Class 4 and Class 5 trucks offer the GVWR, wheelbase, and CA (cab-to-axle) dimensions needed for a properly fitted commercial flat deck. For lighter-duty applications, a Ram 3500 DRW is a common choice for farm, ranch, and oilfield use. Our inventory ranges from entry-level trims to fully loaded models — the majority are cab and chassis ready for your deck or body preference. Contact us to discuss chassis specs and what works best for your payload and towing requirements.
We do not build flat decks ourselves. However, we can customize and install the decks we sell, including adding toolboxes, slip tanks, and other accessories you need for your work truck. We work with high-quality manufacturers for flat decks, and our team can upfit your truck to match your requirements using certified installers. The whole process can be handled by phone and email. Contact us to discuss your ideal setup and get a quote.
We offer aluminum flat decks, bale decks, and dump bodies — installed on new commercial truck chassis ranging from entry-level trims to fully loaded configurations. The majority of our inventory is cab and chassis, ready to be paired with your preferred deck or body. For bale deck or dump body inquiries, contact us directly as these builds are spec-dependent. We work with buyers across Canada and the full order process can be completed remotely by phone and email.
Commercial truck upfitting is the process of outfitting a chassis cab — such as a Ram 5500 or Ford F-550 — with a purpose-built truck body for a specific job. This includes installing a flat deck, dump body, or bale deck, along with additional equipment like toolboxes, headboards, rub rails, and stake pockets. At Diamond West Sales in Diamond Valley, Alberta, we handle the full upfitting process using NSM-certified fabricators to meet Transport Canada safety standards. You get a fully work-ready truck, not just a chassis. The process can be started remotely — phone and email are all you need to get a build underway.
NSM stands for National Safety Mark — the Transport Canada certification required for motor vehicle equipment and modifications sold in Canada. When you buy an upfitted commercial truck, the body installer must be NSM-certified to ensure the build meets Canadian federal safety standards for gross vehicle weight, structural integrity, and road compliance. Diamond West Sales partners exclusively with NSM-certified fabricators, which means your upfitted Ram or Ford work truck is compliant for commercial operation across Canada without any grey-area liability. Not all upfitters hold this certification — it's worth confirming before you buy.
Diamond West Sales is based in Diamond Valley, Alberta (formerly Black Diamond and Turner Valley). We sell commercial trucks and Hillsboro flat decks to customers across Canada — the full purchase process including truck selection, deck spec, and financing can be completed by phone and email. For full truck purchases with installation or upfitting, installs must be done at our location, so customers will need to bring their chassis to us or arrange transport. If you are only purchasing a deck (not a full truck with installation), alternative delivery or shipping options may be available. We may also be able to assist with delivery within Alberta for an additional delivery fee — contact us to discuss your situation and we'll find the best option.
Yes. Diamond West Sales has established partnerships with most major banks and commercial and agricultural lenders across Canada. Whether you're financing a new Ram or Ford chassis cab, a Hillsboro flat deck installation, a bale deck build, or a complete upfitted work truck, we can structure financing to fit your business. Options include commercial loans and terms suitable for both fleet purchases and individual operators. GST and upfit costs can typically be rolled into a single financed amount. Contact us to get pre-qualified and discuss current rates.
Yes, we can — and we have aluminum flat decks that will fit single rear wheel (SRW) short and long boxes, as well as dual rear wheel (DRW) trucks. Our decks are compatible with most truck brands, not just Ram or Ford. Whether you want to purchase a deck only or have one installed on your truck, contact us to confirm fitment, availability, and lead time.
Yes. Bale deck trucks are a common build for agricultural operations across Canada. A bale deck is a heavy-duty flat deck configured specifically for handling large round or square bales, typically featuring a slatted or tubular deck surface, rear guards, and reinforced mounting. We can install bale decks on Ram 3500 DRW, Ram 4500, and Ram 5500 chassis cabs. For bale deck builds, contact us directly — these are spec-dependent and we'll want to discuss brand preference and your chassis, bale size, and haul requirements before quoting.
Both platforms are proven commercial workhorses and the right choice depends on your application. Ram 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs use the 6.7L Cummins diesel — widely regarded as one of the most reliable heavy-duty diesel engines available — and offer excellent torque for towing and payload. Ford F-450 and F-550 offer the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel with strong cab-and-chassis options across a wide range of trims. Diamond West Sales carries inventory on both platforms, from entry-level to fully loaded configurations. Give us a call and we'll walk you through the specs for your specific job.
Once your truck is accepted into our queue, the upfitting process typically takes 3–5 business days for completion. However, depending on how many trucks we currently have in the queue, there may be a wait before we can accept your build. We recommend contacting us ahead of time to discuss timing, especially if you have a deadline. For trucks already in our inventory with a deck pre-installed, you can take delivery much sooner — contact us to check what's currently available and ready to go.
We build and sell work-ready commercial trucks for a wide range of industries across Canada, including oil and gas (oilfield service, pipeline, and wellsite operations), construction and general contracting, agriculture (farming, ranching, grain and bale hauling), landscaping, land clearing, utilities, and municipal operations. Common builds include aluminum flat deck trucks, bale deck trucks, and dump body trucks on Ram 3500, 4500, 5500, and Ford F-450 to F-600 chassis. If your industry has specific upfit or compliance requirements, contact us — we've likely built it before.
